Frequently asked questions

  • What time do we arrive back in Canggu on day 12?

The bus will arrive in Canggu at 14:30 (ETA). As traffic will likely occur between Canggu and the airport, we recommend booking a flight no earlier than 18:00 to allow you to arrive early with enough time.
  • How hard is the climb up Mt Batur?

It will take around 90 minutes depending on your fitness, but it’s a very do-able hike with lots of scenic rest spots on the way up!
  • Do I need proper hiking gear for Batur?

You don’t need proper hiking gear, a pair of trainers and lots of layers will do. You will be warm on the hike up but once you get to the summit it can get pretty cold before the sun rises. We recommend a hoody and maybe a wooly hat. Once the sun is up though its back to Balis glorious normal temperatures!
  • Where do we spend the first night of the tour?

    Frii Hotel Echo Beach, Canggu
  • Can I bring a suitcase on this trip?

We would recommend packing as light as you can on this trip, while we have private transportation at most points throughout the tour we do take fast ferries between Bali, Nusa Penida and Gili T so we recommend bringing a backpack or a lightweight suitcase to make this leg of the trip easier.
  • Can you cater for my dietary requirements on this trip?

Yes, we can cater for most dietary requirements. Please notify us prior to arriving on day 1 so we can arrange this for you.
  • I’ve never surfed before, will this be an issue in Canggu

No problem at all, the lesson at Canggu is led by professionals and is perfect for beginners as well as experienced surfers.
  • Where should I fly into?

Ngurah Rai International Airport in Denpasar (DPS).
  • Do I need to bring temple wear?

In Ubud you will need to wear temple wear when visiting Tirta Empul, however you will be provided with a sarong on entrance so you just need to ensure you’re covering your shoulders and chest.
  • Will I be picked up from the airport?

If you are arriving on day 1, you will be collected from the airport – just send us your arrival details ahead of time.
  • I am arriving a day early, can I still get an airport pick up?

Unfortunately not. Airport pickups are on day 1 of the tour only. We do however give you very simple instructions on how best to get from the airport to Frii Hotel in your information pack so you shouldn’t have any trouble!

Indonesia is a very large country, so some travel times are longer than others. There are a few days with 3-4 hour drive but we break these up with stops along the way!
